Thanks to all for your nice comments. This was found in horrible condition at a rummage sale for 25 cents. $65 for the servicing and I'm wearing a watch again for the first time since cell phones. I really like it an am searching for a reasonable 14k band.

Please don't wear it on a gold band, buy a genuine croc/lizard in black or brown, and search auctions/internet for a gold Bulova buckle. Much more tasteful and better looking/cheaper too!

Congrats on not only your bargain buy, but having a watchguy working for peanuts!

Thank you for the watch band advice. I know nothing of fashion but I like to look good. I'll stay with the leather band.  I do know a little about service, tho, and I'm thinking that costs vary greatly in different areas. Mike is the only watch guy for 50 miles in any direction and he has a 2 month back log. I figure he can charge whatever he wants. $65 seemed reasonable. No complaints.

65 bucks is a great deal. I'm willing to wait 2 or 3 months if its good service at that price
