Ad inserted above:

This one changed names 3 times in the 1950's. Pre-1952 Ads;  this is the Ambassador. Ads call it Everett between 1952/54, Gedney ads are all from 1954 .

This watch looks to have the original band, which is seen in the Ambassador and the Gedney ads. The Everett ads all show a different band style; so I would eliminate Everett from being a match.

In 1953, I show ads for both Ambassador (1952 - 1953) and Gedney (1953 only); either model name would be appropriate for me.

I think I'm with Ken. Based on the advert showing this as the original band I'm Ambassador / Gedney. Maybe slightly more inclined to Gedney.

Here is the 1952 Ambassador advert showing the same original watch band as the shown on the subject watch.

1952 Bulova Ambassador watch

Based on the bracelet matching the advert I'd also be good with a 1953 Bulova Ambassador, also noting the matching 21 Jewel count. A privious post on one of the Everett watched stated incorrectly that 'all Ambassadors from this time frame are 17 jewels'.

I stand corrected and after more comprehensive research I'll agree, band/date  certainly says it's a 1953 Ambassador  (or Gedney). I'm inclined to go with the 1st name used in a '53 ad, but would also be fine with either.

Nice ad match Stephen and thanks for clarifying the Ambassador did come in 21 jewels.  Changing my vote.

1953 Bulova Ambassador (I am fine with Gedney as well if it is the consensus)
