Watch Description

I suspect it's a 1952 Brigadier but I don't really know.  This watch has a special story as I've bought it to replace my great-grandfather's watch that was stolen from me in the late 90s. The thieves kicked down my door in broad daylight and the vintage Bulova was the only thing they took. And, it was the only thing that was irreplaceable. My grandmother was devastated. So, even though she has passed on, I know she's looking down and is pleased that I have replaced it.

Not a Brigadier but a 1952 Bulova Oakley and an amazing specimem, also being a first for database in this era.

My pleasure. Thanks for the identification.

Super excited to finally replace this heirloom and at the prospect of handing it down to my family, in the future.

Admins -- Received the watch today. It's gorgeous but this is not a mans watch. For sure a woman's. Very dainty. Please change the classification.

No, it is indeed a mans watch. Styles change. During the period this watch was produced, women's watches were the size of a dime. In the 100+ year evolution of wrist watches;  "Tuna can on a band" men's watches are a fairly recent phenomenon.

Indeed, you're right. However, this particular model was a tad dainty for my tastes.

I put a very dainty period band (a 1940s Kestenmade Franklin) and my wife enjoys wearing it.
