Shawn, in a way, I agree with you. But how does one objectively decide which? It's a function of the system. The best solution IMO, would be to call it and Ambassador/Everett, as there is no difference in the actual watches. If one were sold in Canada and the other in USA, and that resulted in the two names at POS, there still would be no difference in the two watches. (thats if we are assuming both ads being correct and the same year).
Let's not forget Speigals were not Bulova.
Speigals were/are a 3rd party mail order discount retailer Selling not only Watches from many different manufacturers but literally thousands of other miscellaneous items leaving plenty of room for errors within their pages.
I'm wondering if the 'Jewelers ads' were printed and distributed by Bulova?

Seriously gang. We add a "new" model name all the time. When a new advert turns up, or a hangtag or the likes.... If it's not in the dropdown model list, it's added if there's evidence/reason to believe it's legit. Unknown just doesn't feel right when we think this watch sold under two names. I'm not playing devils advocate here, but IMO the system dictates the choice. Why not modify the system for the rare exception. Add a model name/choice of Ambassador/Everett.
Simple. We get to follow some rules with consistency and objectivity, and the watch gets named the two names by which it apparently sold.
Ambassador/Everett would be confirmed three ticks from me. This almost never happens, so it's not like we are setting ourselves for future issues w/ this choice.
Given the ads at face value the only difference between the 2 models are the band.
Will's Bulova price lists which, to My understanding, were distributed within the U.S. confirm that the Watch, identified by identical Model numbers was Sold under both names.
Being this example is on a Leather strap it could be either of the 2 identified Models... or named something entirely different.
