this is my father's 1952 bulova. 'director', i think. it runs perfectly and i wear it almost daily. i have it serviced yearly, but it is all original (save the band), never restored. i'm interested in having it restored... the crystal is about what you might expect from a 60 year old watch. i don't think he wore it much past my early childhood... i don't remember it and haven't seen it in photos beyond about '65... i'd also like to find the original band, or a replica. i understand from my mother that my dad bought it for himself as a gift from her at the px at the key west naval station....

It is indeed the "Director" model. Given that you've kept it serviced over the years I don't think you need a restoration done. The dial is clean and clear and doesn't require refinishing. I think all you really neeed is a new crystal, band and have the case polished.

Confirmed Director,
If you take a look at page 9 of the ad database, you will see many examples of the expansion band that was original to this watch. It appears to have a distinct Diamond pattern on the links.
Your best bet would be to keep checking eBay, they do appear from time to time.

Hi Jim I'm not sure if Bobbee is a panel member yet or not, however I would welcome his nomination as such. But whether he's a panel member or not, his comments and opinions - like yours and every single member who takes the time to study and state their opinions - are not only read but taken into close consideration by those who do vote. I welcome observations, opinions and comments from all mybulova members. It's a community, and we all have a voice.
