Watch Description

Looks like a 1951 His Excellency "XX" to me. It's housed in what appears to be the original clam shell case with booklet as found in an estate; according to the watchmaker I purchased it from. Gold plated back and movement marked "L1". Keeps perfect time.

I find it quite odd that there are currently 9 HE XX examples in the database; one is a 1948 and the other 8 are 1949. Thought I would add a 1951 for good measure.

The last ad I could find picturing this model was dated 1951. Nothing in '52 or '53, unless I missed one. Is it possible that 1951 was the cut off point for the "XX"?
