On the dial it says self winding. inside it said stainless back and 10k plated gold.

What is the date code on the movement?

Is there a date code on the case?

Is the case stamped Bulova?

Can add pics of the movement and outside case back?

Looks like a Spencer. Would be nice to see the case back on both sides and the movement. If the confirm 1953 then I will vote Spencer

date code on case is L1, date code on movement is L2 and the case is stamped Bulova,right above the L1

Not the Spencer.
This is a Duo Wind "L", as per 1952 newspaper ads, and same date in the regular full ads.
The Spencer has a quartered "shadow" effect dial, the subject watch does not.
Date needs changing to 1952, L2 on movement.

Record up for reveiw based on above.  Date changed from 1951 to 1952.
