Additional Information

Adding to my collection is what I believe to be an Academy Award "N" like this one https://mybulova.com/watches/1951-academy-award-5009.  This crystal was very chipped so with Kurt's help I found one in my crystal stash that fit, the GS-CC283.

It has a 10K gold filled case date stamped L1.  It is very small like the "L" and "M".  It has a 5AD 21 jewel movement also date stamped L1.  The movement appears to be working well.

I always say, it's amazing what a new crystal can do to an old watch.

1951 Bulova Academy Award "N" looks to be a good match as long as there wasn't a white gold version :-)

Yes it does, especially when the old one was in bad shape like the one that came on this watch.
