Watch Description

I just got this one in and haven't done anything to it. I apologize for the bad pictures but I was in a hurry. I don't recall ever seeing this model before and have no idea what it is. That's what attracted me to it. I hope someone on here can shed some light on it. It will only run for about a minute at a time currently, but I think the movement just needs a cleaning.

i'll make my call as the " treasurer". Pre AA but could be an Excellency variant as well.

Treasurer is rectangular, this has curved horizontals, tonneau on it's side.

Excellency at this time had 21 jewels.

Unknown, and a real beauty.

A nice Unknown from me.  I love these new ones...I don't think I've seen this one before!

Now that's a great looking watch Alan, what a find. How is it possible that Bulova made a watch and just plain forgot to advertise it?! There is no question it's all Bulova, I've looked through everything we have and just don't find a match. I'm inclined to think it's an Academy Award variant but I have no proof. Dang it's sure is a nice watch though.

Thanks to all of you for your input. I didn't recall ever seeing one like this either. It doesn't appear to have been an expensive model but unknowns keep this hobby interesting to me.

Didn't all AA's come with a 21 jewel movement?Having said that the case looks a lot like the AA "Z"without the engravings.

You're correct Den. The Academy Award "S" and "Z" used this same case design without the engraving. The AA cases were gold filled and this one is RGP. Maybe this one is the "Nominated" but didn't win. Lol!

I have both AA's with this case without engraving on the bezel. One with the curtain dial, one plain butler but both are 10k Gold filled and 21 Jewels.

Yours sports a stainless back, 17 Jewel movement so I'm still of the thought that it is an Excellency variant yet to be ID'd.
