Watch Description

Case Back Inside is marked " BULOVA 10K Rolled Gold Plate Bezel Stainless Back New York". Case Back Outside is marked "BULOVA A9 (could be 49)" and "2495985". 17j 7AD movement has "L0" marker for 1950. Bezel has engraved trim around crystal. Case measures 27.1mm lug-to-lug and 18.4mm wide without crown. Case bezel shows wear through gold filled surface, exposing base metal at highpoints.

I believe this to be a first (!) example of a 1950 Miss Liberty. I believe the ad 1950 15/18 showing watch #15 is a match.

A9 is one of the date codes Bulova used in 1949. As you know they also used 49, they are different but both indicate 1949 manufacture.

Agreed, Bulova Miss Liberty

Do we want to date it to the case or movement?

Bob - I believe that after the new alphanumeric date code system we do not use serial to determine date.

Agreed, my question was based on movement code of L0 vs. case code of A9.
