Watch Description

1949 MODIFIED CASE BULOVA  Case back:10K GOLD FILLED,BULOVA,49 AND SERIAL#(case back is also curved)  Inside case back:BULOVA FIFTH AVE NEW YORK   8AD movement is dated L0   I bought this watch about two years ago and for a year I searched trying to find an ad for it.One day I just happened to look at the case between the lugs and saw tool marks so I figure it's a cut down Squadron case. It's all BULOVA,just not a real production  model.Too bad I really like the look.  See last photo for comparison.

Sure looks like that's what someone did (cut down Squadron), especially if you see tool marks from the "cut down".

I agree. Nice watch though.

So,should I call it a Skyliner Merc?

Interesting, I wonder why would someone do this thing? I can't say it looks bad though, maybe even an improvement.....

I would be hard pressed to tag it anything but Non-Conforming.

Maybe the lugs were damaged at some time and someone decided to customize wha was left. The movement is also one year newer than the case.Non-conforming is what this one is for sure but I still like it .
