Watch Description

10K Rolled Gold Plate Yellow metal case, SS Back.  Nice chasing top and bottom.  Has Bulova marked crown.  Case serial may imply a 1949 vintage, but I am unsure if true at this time in the 40's with Bulova's numbering. Movement is real nice and sports a square (1946) mark.  Dial is especially clean and nice!! This watch has been serviced and runs great!!!! Appears to be a Bulova Minute Man as shown here: https://www.mybulova.com/watches/1949-minute-man-697   but with an upgrade movement.  So appears someone either at purchase or a later date decided they wanted the nicer movement than the 17 jewel typically offered for this model.

Looks to be a Bulova Minute Man, but I'm unsure tat it ever came with a 21 jewelled movement.

Can you please confirm the jewel count.

Yes, I see the picture is not as good as I would like.   This movement is a 21 jewel.  I would add another picture if I could....

1946 Minute Man appears to be a good call - noting replaced movement.

1946 Bulova Minute Man is a good match

Looks like a Minute Man, with a non-original movement.

Still not sure about date.  Is the serial number indicating a 1949 model with a replaced 1946 movement?  Or is  this a 1946 with upgraded 21J movement?

Good call, Jim. I missed the s/n vs date code discrepancy. Case s/n seems to indicate 1949 with a 1946 movement. If the case back isn't marked with a 2 digit code starting with an A or J, and s/n doesn't start with a 6 or 7 the date would appear to be 1949

Panel? 1949 Minute Man?

I'm with a 1949 Minute Man with slightly older engine.

Either this is not a 46, or mine is not a 46.  I've dated mine 46 because there is a 46 stamped on it (https://mybulova.com/comment/80468 very top-center of movement pic).  I could be entirely wrong and the 46 on mine means something completely different.

Thoughts?
