Watch Description

On the case back and inside it is labled 14k gold. Other than 8AE and A9 I cannot determine more on the movement, date, age, or model name. Numerous watchmaker scribes can be seen. Jeweler appraisal as of July 2019 was $850.  Please help to determine all possible.

It appears to be a Beau Brummel.

It appears this watch had a name change to Beau Brummell but started out as "Lord Springfield", or vice versa. There appears to be an overlap of ads with both names showing in 1947 and 1948. Sometimes assigning an ID can be really challenging. Lots of good info and also ads in the link I posted.

I'm fine with either ID at this point but still looking.

In true Bulova fashion they go and throw a spanner in the works.

I am tending to agree that at 1949 it was part of the general diamond series and for men this was called the Beau Brummel (Brummell) series.

I'm at Beau Brummel also.
