Hmmm, I'm not so sure about Grant, dial is off, and the bezel too. 1st 3 pics are a "Grant". I think you have 49 "Duncan " as shown in the 4th picture. Tang lugs and beveled bezel on each end.

I don't believe that this is either a Grant or a Ducan at this point. Further investigation is required.

I agree, on closer inspection there does appear to be a flat ridge along the sides of the crystal which is not present on the Duncan, more detailed pics of Duncan show this. Mark's watch looks more square as well. Ooops, my bad.

Yep, the 'GRANT' has softer lines.

The Dial style first appears in a 1949 ad and the Case bezel is very similar to a '50 'DUO WIND' in which the same Dial is used except on this Case the bezel verticles are peaked (?)

Can't wait for some better pictures Fifth,  I kind of agree with similarities to the Duo Wind. This one's going to challenge us.

Jeff had recently mentioned a 'DARWIN' or 'DARWIND' as using the same Glass as the '50 Duo Wind 'D' - perhaps this is it.

Well, any notion of "could be" is worth investigating. An Ad showing the Darwin or Darwind in 14K would certainly, maybe seal an ID. Best to wait for more info and pics before we go hunting.

Sweet watch Fifth, The new pics are great and will help immensely when looking at ads here and elswhere. I'm still liking the "Darwin" theory, distinctive watch named after a very famous man. Makes perfect sense.
