Watch Description

A franken watch I think. Changed movement to 8AH. The case date shows 2009, overcleaned dial, cleaned Bulova sig.

If the case is marked A9, that is actually 1949.

1948 (A8) and 1949 (A9) were the first years they used the letter to designate the decade for date codes.

well I'll be, the chart I looked at indicated A for 2000.

The models that used this case (Brigadier, Douglas, Ambassador) all had 21 jewel movements. None of them had this style of dial with the two-tone center area. I would say this watch is not of original parts; the movement is dated to 1946, case is dated to 1949, wrong jewel count, wrong dial. I am leaning towards this being non-conforming.

I don't see anything matching it either, I guess I hadn't considered non-conforming but Ken makes a good case.
