Watch Description

I believe this to be a 1948 His Excellency. Crystal has a nice size crack. 14K gold filled. Rose gold tone dial. What are the unique lugs called? Second hand sub-dial. Running strong 70+ year old watch.

I think this will be a 1949 based on the case serial number, and in that year this was the His Excellency.

Nice one DDeanC, I like them in rose gold. I've seen some nicknames for those lugs but never anything 'official'.

Would the purple hands be original?

I would say they are original. Normally they are heat treated to a more blu-ish colour, but there is a wide range of this sort of thing in horology, from straw yellow to red to purple to blue to grey. Cornflower Blue is the most traditional.

Great looking watch.  I agee it is a His Excellency.

1949 His Excellency (edited to no variant based on yellow being the "NN", pink to be determined)

I'll hold off on the "NN" variant. Still looking for a rose/red/coral variant letter.

1949 His Excellency for now.
