Watch Description

This watch had belonged to my grandmother but has been in a safe for the last 30 years since she passed.  It is still in working condition and keeps time but I have not tested it for accuracy.  I would like help with identifying the design of this watch.  The design doesn't quite match any of the examples in the catalogs and advertisements.  The case is oval with a rectangular crystal and is made of 14K yellow gold with 2 diamonds inset in white gold triangles at the top and bottom.  The metal on the sides of the face look to be cut with white gold in a way to look like diamonds (I don't believe they are).  Lady Bulova, Dolly Madison, and Laurel have similar designs but not a match.  I'm not sure if the band is original to the piece but is marked "FLEX-LET / 1/20 12K G.F. TOP" on one link and "2-49" on another.

Did they make variations of examples in their catalogs?  Any help in identifying the design model would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for posting your Grandmother's watch.  I searched the DB/Ads and could not find a match.  Unless one of the other panel members has an ad match we will need to classify this as an unknown.

Wonderful keepsake Michael. I rather doubt the band is original but it could be. I too cannot find a match in any of our resource material. 1947 Bulova Unknown.

Very distinctive case. We should be able to match to an advert if we indeed had the correct one showing this watch. I'll go digging, but may end up with the same outcome.

I have been back to this one a few times and come up empty as well. Sorry;

Thanks to all who have taken time out of their busy schedules to research this piece!  I will keep digging as well and post any new information I find.
