Watch Description

I am guessing its a 1947 His Excellency ( unknown variant). I understand these are hard to identify from the different names they had in 1946 (Ambassador) The watch runs great but has an awful plastic replacement domed crystal. Would like to replace with NOS glass crystal.  I like the dated engraving. Its like a time capsule of a relationship from long ago.

I would agree with a generic His Excellency on this one.  The gold version is the "GG" but with white gold variant is unknown.  Love the engraving.

Ken has previously surmised that the "GG" is the yellow, "II" is the white and "HH" possibly the rose. However the referenced HE "II" version looks to have a white dial and not a black as per the subject watch.

Having said that though, I've just noticed that the dial has been redone (noting the notch at the 12 position), so it could very well be the "II" variant.

1947 Bulova His Excellency, variant currently an unknown for me, noting refinished dial.

His Excellency in the white gold.  That's a sharp watch man!

I have this same 1947 watch that I haven't gotten around to posting, it's NOS (without the strap) with the hang tag still attached and the tag calls it an Ambassador 'C'. My serial number is 7007580. I purchased it without the movement which I have since added.
