1946 Bulova 'Alexander' 14k solid yellow gold. Swiss 17j 10BC movement, square date code. Very plain looking case. Not a lot of flare to this one but the crystal and dial are very clean and the movement runs strong. Keeps almost perfect time over a few days sitting stationary. Waiting on strap to see how it does on daily wear. The seconds hand needs to be replaced, if anyone has a favorite place to get parts or a good reference for part numbers I am all ears. Case size (excluding the crown) is 26.25mm wide X 37.5mm lug to lug Gold weight total of bezel and back is 7.77g of 14k yellow gold. Cannot find an advert describing the Alexander. My conclusion was made by comparison of earlier known cases already in the DB. It bears resemblance to several others, such as the Arnold, but lacks any engraving detail the others all seem to have.
Referencing the another Alexander in the database found here https://mybulova.com/watches/1941-alexander-2848 the advert describes watch "C" labeled "Alexander" and the description offers a Yellow Gold option. This watch is listed as a '41 however, my watch is '46, at least the movement is.

Nice watch! Thanks for sharing it. I think the ad you reference is calling out color as opposed to composition. Based on the other watches in the ad all being called out the same (they are all plated models) and the prices, it doesn't match your watch
It's tough to speculate on whether a watch is named the same in solid gold and plate without a period ad for verification. I do agree it looks like an Alexander, however it may have had a different name in solid gold.
I'm sorry, but I also have to go with Unknown for the time being. Still looking.
