Watch Description

I know this watch was made between 1925 and 1936 because of the movement within it, however, I don't know what year exactly. When I had a jeweler open up, all they said was the movement, 6AF. The back of the case has no information, the bracelet does but only regarding the karat of gold used. I have gone through every single watch on this website made in the matching years and there is not currently a match, and I would like to know what type it is, as it was my great grandfather's watch. Thanks in advance!

Your watch is actually from the 1940s.

Just checking now as to the model, Do you have a photo of the movement you can add here in the comments?

Also what is the serial number on the outside of the caseback?

The lack of a sub-second is interesting and not something we've seen very often before in this era of watches.

Four diamonds....thinking Beau Brummell at this stage, but still looking.

If it's a 6AF... And not marked on the inside we're probably looking at a jobber (aftermarket case & dial) to resemble the 1940's.

Have updated to 1946 for now until we can get more information on the caseback date code

Based on the apparent lack of stamping on outside case back, I'm also thinking this is an aftermarket case/dial.  No matter what the end result, it's a great heirloom to enjoy and pass on to the next generation.
