Watch Description

This is has a 1946 case and 1947 movement.  It is 10K gold plate.  I believe this is the Clara Barton.  This was another model I was hoping to find and was happy to pick up.  I have replaced the band with an 8mm leather as close to the ad as I could find.  This watch is pretty beat up but I didn't really mind too much as it was probably a nurses watch and would have been a daily wearer.  The dial is in better shape than the case.  I had fun finding and purchasing some Clara Barton postcards and such to go with it.  Again if I am wrong I will have to redo all my photos!  Thanks!

Haha now I am confused.  I thought it was by the case date or is it not a hard fast rule?  Thanks : )

So usually we do a "which came last" as long as it's in say a 1 or two year period.  

After that... model names change etc, so it makes sense to go with the case, as what was once a Bulova Ranger could now be a "Chief"... etc.

It's kind of an either/or depending on who is looking at it I guess. Some say case, some say watch couldn't have been assembled in 1946 with a 47 movement. It's a fine line :o)
