Watch Description

Please help me identify this beautiful Bulova watch that was my grandma's and handed down to me.  I would someday like to hand down to my granddaughter with correct information on style, model, year made, and worth.  It has 2 diamonds in the setting, is working and keeps time perfectly!  I have not opened the watch to look for identification for fear I may damage.  I have found engraved stampings on the back case and band of the watch (see photos).  The stamping on back of the watch reads 14k Bulova - E214175.  On the one side of band are symbols with 10k and on the other side of band reads USCD PAT. NO. 2267967.  Any help you can give me with information would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you, Sandra Lea

Hello and welcome to myBulova!  What a lovely heirloom you have from your grandmother.

Your watch might be a 1945 Baroness but it is a little hard to be 100% with these photos

Thank you for your response, yes it is very hard to tell by this picture if it is a Baroness.  Is there any chance this could be no. 6 Dolly Madison?

Not a Dolly Madison in my opinion due to the dial shape.  Your watch has a tonneau shape and the Dolly Madison is a cushion shape.

We previously ID'd a very similar watch as a Bulova Athena. Ad states rose gold which matches the watch in this link, but even then the advert match looks like a best guess, as the advert isn't that detailed

The Baroness also does seem like a good possibility.

Nice watch and a wonderful family heirloom! This is a tough one to ID.

It seems that Baroness and Athena (both solid gold w/2 diamonds) are close; however The Baroness is listed as white gold and the Athena as rose gold. I think the Dolly Madisons were all gold plated. With known ads shown above specifically calling out gold color, It is entirely possible that she is a different name based on case composition/color.

Still looking for an ad giving gold color choice for a given model name to no avail.

Based on case back serial number, it's a 1945. I am currently unable to name her with any confidence.

You could be right on the gold color and name, good call.  I think I am at Unknown unless we find a better match.

I search the archives several times and can’t seem to find a match. I’ll have to go with unknown until an ad turns up.

Thank you for helping me and your continued interest.  I am amazed and find very interesting all the information references that is gathered here and have enjoyed trying to identify my beautiful keepsake.  I am astounded of the many years of advertisements and watches that Bulova has (and they still make watches today!).  Your continued help and interest is much appreciated.  I would love to someday identify her and keep printed history information in the bottom of her box when I hand her over to my sweet grand daughter one day with family history.  I will keep checking back and hope her name will be known someday.  Thanks to all of you again, Sandra Lea.
