Watch Description

Circular Case measures 35mm lug to lug x 29mm non inclusive of the Crown using Calipers. White Dial shows Military standard Radium numerals, Bulova signature and tracks are printed Black. Hour and Minute Hands are 'Spade and Sword' Radium filled, Sweep Center Seconds Hand is missing (?). Snap fit Caseback is Stainless Steel and stamped as shown. Strap is N.O.S. vintage JB Champion Calf Leather finished with a Bulova signed Gold Buckle. * Here We have another U.S. Military Dial and Movement cased in a Gold 'civilian' style Case. Of the several I have seen to date all are Dated with a Triangle inside a Circle, 1944-45. Cases are identical. http://www.mybulova.com/watches/1945-unknown-2460. This one is showing an ultra rare White A-11 Dial and a 16 Jewel 10 AKCSH 'hack'.

Even if not a military issue, perhaps a civilian issue sold in the base PX to military personel as a dress watch? Certainly is in the military style and has the right movement. Slick looking watch Fifth. Tarnishing of the gold leads me to believe the base could be Sterling so I'd test it for that.

I don't see the dial listed on the Bulova dial card. This dial is quite unique with numbered 5 minute/second intervals actually in the track & not above it. This dial doesn't show on the Bulova dial card, but may be one of the missing & all that's left is the glue patch.

What do you know about the dial Fifth?

Wayne,

absolutely nothing other the Dial and Hands match this Black Radium version issue A-11 but in White (U.S.Navy) and with a track variation.

 

The link in the OP is to an identically Cased and Date stamped Black Dialed Model

and Geoff had this identically Cased and Dated 10 AK version.
