This watch looks like a 1940s Stamford model & I might ad it's a very nice looking watch. I have a watch that looks very much like this watch however, it's has the model name of Stamford. If you have any source data showing this watch as a 1945 Aviator please let us know. We have two other examples of the Stamford in the data base and would like to ad your watch to the Stamford collection.

Thanks

Wayne

Pink gold version of the Stamford is actually called the Alderman, as we now know.  Just documenting it here for the record.

Looks like Alderman but w/ 15 jewels, while ads indicate 17 jewels.  Owner lists Bulova model number and price in root record from "on tag".  This may be where he got the model name for the ID.

Very interesting Will! - Owner states the information listed in the root is directly from the tag - assuming original 'hang tag', which is now confirmed by the price list.

2 Stars for the 'AVIATOR' "A"

...might be a big assumption that hang tag is original.  Not really good info/pictures. I've PM'ed Murray, but it's an old record.  At least 4 Aviators in January 1955 list, and if these are cross-referenced in other lists, it often gives gold color and sometimes dial configuration/color.  Cross referencing now.
There's the only two unique model numbers from 1955 (below).

checking on the diff btwn 31549 A and B in list.
