Watch Description

UPDATE (02-03-2012) Corrected Case Shape to Rectangle

Overall Length: 35mm

Width (sans crown): 20mm

Between Lugs: 15mm

Solid 14KYG

I've already added this to the "What Is It" forum under "Douglas? I Don't Think So"

To me, it looks similar to the Blackhawk model only rectangular.

Looks like the Bulova came off the dial when it was cleaned at some point in time.  Maybe that cleaning got rid of minute and subsecond tracks which would help w/ ID.  Dial looks like it fits the case nicely, and has been in this case for a while, if not from original point of sale.

Yeah, it looks like someone attempted to clean the dial. The movement and case both date to '44 and I see no indication that the dial was swapped.

Different crystals OT. Your is flat and Darren's is curved. Otherwise they do look similar except for the lack of minute and seconds trak. Very nice watch. Is yours solid gold too? I kinda like the flat style crystal for this watch.

I noticed that too John, it would be interesting to know if Darren's watch has a flat bezel and the crystal specs match the example I have, mine is 10K GF and that might be the difference between the dials, both are 21J, but they probably would have different names...

I think you are onto something there. His bezzel looks like it curves on the horizontal ends and is flat on the verticles.

I was just checkig out the crystal on mine. I popped it out and found that my bezel is ever so slightly curved from side to side and flat from top to bottom. I found that the BB MX2160 21.6x17.6 fits perfectly (GS MX326-35). I believe OT's case is the same. When I tried the flat type crystal, like OT's, it didn't quite sit flat.

There are several cylinder type crystals for the MX2160, ie flat top, domed, faceted. The different types of cylinders will give us an idea as to case shape. Give me a day or two and I'll post the models id'd for each and try to take a pic comparing the flat (X) vs the military (MX), crystal in the case hopefully showing the difference in fit.

Looks very like the GLENFORD in this 1954 ad, 14K solid gold, 21 jewels, raised crystal, shame it's 10 years out.

Thanks Bob but I'm not seeing it. Also, thanks for posting here because it reminded me that I was supposed to do a crystal comparison.

Yeah, you right. Looks more like Greg's with the raised crystal, but dial, hands and case metal wrong! :^(
