I think this watch is a 1945 Bulova Squadron. The case looks like the devices that hide the lugs are missing from the case. Other than minor defects, barely noticeable, it's a fine watch.

President case, Squadron + Conrad Dial.

Unless we can get accurate proof from a vintage ad that Bulova released a watch in this combinatiion and gave it a particular model name there is always going to be doubt what a watch is. Especially since it is so easy to drop any movement into any case. (same movement shape neccessary of course)

admin,

I understand the ad confirmation to model identification but disagree with Your analysis on this watch.

Below is an identical and 100% original President.

I agree ML. I have also come across this model on more than one occasion with this dial.

  • Neither the Squadron or Conrad dial would fit this case due to the movements. 8ac/8ae dials, which the two latter models had, do not fit the 7ak/7aa calibres that the President has.

LOL... 1943- 48 President, people... (Most likely the D or E dial variant???)

Excellent. President it is...now to narrow down the model.

Fifth

The 1945 President you are displaying above appears to have a 21j 7AP movement. My 1940 President also has a 7AP, so that's another movement drops into the President case from 1940 to 1948.

7AP came in both 17 Jewel and 21 Jewel configurations, the 'PRESIDENT' should have a 21J movement Wayne. 7AK or 7AP

I believe that what I said! Two different movements can fit the President case from 1940 to 1948.

I didn't say that your 1945 President was not identical  to the subject watch at the top of the page, or imply that it was 17 jewels.
