After looking thru the data base I foun d two possibilities for this watch. Could it be a 1946 Officer or a 1947 Ranger??

Check the advertised Jewel count on both...

The Officer is 15 jewels, like JPs watch.  It sure looks like the Officer to me, although, admittedly, these low res hand-illustrated ads can make it hard to be sure.  Bulova made so many watches with essentially this same profile. . .

Movement symbol (circle) and case no. dates this to 1944, John, not '46.

Hi JP  Is there a mistake on measurements you entered into the crystal dimensions box?  As entered, it would be square crystal.  Maybe its camera angle, but doesn't look square to me.

I didn't mean "square" crystal, I meant I didn't see equadistances in horizontal at widest point vs verticle measurements.  Even w/ tonneau shape, the crystal sure looks Longer on the verticle than on the widest horizontal.  An illusion to me.

Pic of case back clears up any optical confusion Will, you can see it's a couple of mil longer each end.
