Im not useds to this, but my late grand father bought this watch back in 1944 in Québec Canada, and I would like to know more about it. I dont really want to open it for now. but maybe I will have to. Its looks very much as a Blackout, but the needles are not the same shape at all.
Hi Deem1811, welcome to mybulova. Case serial number and number font suggest your watch is a 1943. It appears to me to be a 1943 Senator. The Blackout used the same case, but had a luminous dial and hands. It appears your watch is sporting a replacement hour hand, that's no big issue.
If you can get someone to help you open it up, a shot of the movement could help verify age. Heirloom watches are the best, congrats on having your Grandfather's watch

Welcome to myBulova! Very nice heirloom from your grandfather. Heirloom watches are the best! These came with a metal band or a pigskin strap. The metal band variant (letter assigned by Bulova for differences in models) is "D" for the Senator. Not sure if we will go with that or a general Senator ID since it has a replacement band.

Here is a shot of the movement.. i dont see any year code inside.. maybe you can spot it.
