Watch Description

Help me find out the year and model of my vintage Bulova, I inherited from my grandma. It has JB Champion on the stainless with 10K rolled gold over stretchable band. The symbol is an omega with asterisk. The stainless back cover also has some hand etched numbers and letters that looks like 1-15-41 and others that I cant figure out. TY.

Welcome to mybulova, heirloom watches are the best! The Omega symbol on the movement is 1940,along with an asterix for 1941. the case s/n starts with a "1" which means the watch was cased in 1941 with a movement originally assembled in 1940 and then hand stamped 1941 for the watch. The hand etched numbers are on the inside of the back? That would be a jeweler's marks from the watch being serviced/repaired.

I believe your watch to be a 1941 Senator. Grandma may have worn it proudly, but it was in fact produced as a Men's watch.

Welcome to myBulova!  How wonderful you have an heirloom watch from your Grandmother.  This is a Senator model.  It was actually a mens watch but I can see a woman wearing it back in the day as well.  It is a nice size for both.  Thank you for sharing.

The movement is double date stamped 40/41.  And the case has a 1941 serial #.  Here is an ad for the Senator https://www.mybulova.com/sites/default/files/vintage_ads/1947-Sears-Bulova-Ad-1.jpg We haven't found a variant for the yellow gold case with rose dial yet.

I believed, I found one from the website that almost looks like my bulova. https://www.mybulova.com/watches/1940-senator-1277. It also has an Omega and asterisk movement symbol. I would like to add a picture of the inside of the case cover, and let you see what's engraved inside. I'm not sure though how I can add more pictures.

1941 Bulova Senator, pehaps it was Grandfathers watch? It's a wonderful keepsake.
