I suspect this watch is from 1940 - looking at the omega symbol and the band type
14kt RGP with Original band and crystal - as far as i know.
Face is copper \ gold coloured with black numerals silver outer containing minutes. Black hands
Second hand is black over a copper \gold background with silver outer square containing seconds.
any information that you can give would be helpful - thanks
I think this is still a unknown Janet, here is its twin... http://www.mybulova.com/watches/1940-unknown-2788
I haven't checked the decade newspaper ads yet, but I don't remember seeing this one ID'd.
I don't think that's a step Will. If you look at the picture of the subject watch... I think the artist is trying to render the copper part of the dial after the tracks before the case. The dial goes silver track... copper edge of the dial.. then case. I think that's what he's indicating there if you look at them both.
December 1941 ad.
Confirms the PILOT ad. Different paper/ad then Plains black and white ad used for the ID change. Bob found this one in the Oakland Tribune.
Perhaps not steps in the ad, but is it subject watch case in the ad? I'm not considering the "white outline" necessary to seperate the case from the background black color. Almost looks like two "squares" around the case....
