Watch Description

I inherited this Blova watch years ago. The outer glass is broken, it still ticks but needs adjusting for sure. I know little to nothing about watches, I am learning. ALl i know is that my great uncle adored this watch. I have NOT been able to find another just like it. Ever. I believe this watch is a Right angle watch. I am NOT sure at all of the year model. I put 1940 as year because it made me select a year to continue posting. It has what I would consider to be normal scratches and wear and tear. It needs some love and attention, but this watch is unique and Id love to see it sold to another lover of antique Bulovas.

Below is a list of what information I could see on the watch itself. I cannot see that well so I am not 100% on these but I did the best I could in hopes maybe someone can help me learn more about this watch. It is absolutely stunning. Make offer today! Let's talk- I am open to all serious offers- or email me to see better pics of the ones I tried to take with my 5mp camera aren't sufficient. Thanks for looking!

Hi Rob, welcome to myBulova. I'm a big fan of heirloom watches so I think it's pretty exciting that you have this beauty from your great uncle, it certainly is a fine remembrance. Without a view of the side it's not 100% certain but it could well be a Rite Angle. Here's an advert that shows that side view.

Bulova made these watches for three or four years in the late 30's early 40's. From your serial number we'd date the case to 1938 ( starts with an "8") but would be interested to know the date code on the movement as well. If possible, have a jeweler open it and get the date stamp off the movement . If you intend to wear it and use it, please have it serviced first and keep it serviced while you wear it.

Let us know if the shape matches, perhaps post a side view photo if you can. Thanks for joining myBulova.

I agree with Geoff, looks to be a Rite Angle model, and a side view would say for sure.

Rob, can you confirm the side view of your watch?

Right Angle... really no other I don't think.

Yes. The shape is identical, I looked it up online and indeed, Rite Angle it is. I will get help from jeweler to remove backing when I arrive home next Monday. I look forward to learning more about this unique piece.

Asterisk on movement would be 1941.  Case SN suggests 1938.
