Serial number confirms the 1938 date of manufacture. Probably has a 17 Jewel, 8AM movement. What are the rest of the caseback markings? BTW, Nice Rite Angle.

Rite-Angle for sure. Band is a few decades off.... personal opinion it would look hoooogly better with a nice leather band.

Agreed, Right Angle, and Plains is right, a nice Leather strap will make a world of difference to its looks.

I don't think the Ladies model had sub-seconds, but I could be wrong, I can't find one in the database....

Definitely men's.  The womens was about 2/3 this size and no sub second hand.

I think the oversized band makes the bezel look small, and thanks for confirming what I thought on the sub-seconds dial...
