Watch Description

This one is pretty cool, anybody ever seen one before now?  I found a single ad in the database dated 1938, and nothing else. Ad states 17 jewel, watch is 21 jewel with matching dates and in pretty amazing condition. Not knowing if the single jeweler (non- corporate Bulova) ad is correct, I'll  guess this is what it is and an ad match.

This unusual lug setup only seems to have been used a very short time by 2 watches, this one and the Knight. Knight is slightly smaller with stepped sides. This watch was mentioned during the Knight identification debate, and obviously quite different now that an actual example has appeared. I wonder if it was a style design  "flop" and quickly discontinued? The three Knights currently in the Db, are all dated 1938 and ID'ed off an ad also dated 1938.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the illusive 1938 Brunswick on it's BR marked original band. Purchased as seen with a fresh complete service and keeping perfect time.

Well it's a perfect match for the advert, right down to the side pattern. If you look at the 3 examples we have of the Bulova Knight, you can certainly see that this is a different watch as the sides of the Knight do not have that pattern and as you say have a slight step.

This is a wonderful find and an absolute first for the database.
