Watch Description

My dad said he got this watch when he was in the Army (WWII) and it was confiscated from him when he was captured as a POW in Germany. He said the guards returned it to him just before everyone was released. I don't know if any of this story is true, but trying to find out any info on this watch.

Case and dial look like the late 30's Minute Man, apart from the diamond (?) embellishments. Hour and minute hands look like they could have been replaced at some point. Typically a Gold hands go with a Gold hour marker dial, as in the second hand.

Stephen, looking again. What first appeared to Me to be Diamonds in the case could be a reflection of some sort, an optical illusion. If so then this Watch is a Minute Man the Year of which being beyond My scope of expertise and should be verified using the traditional methods. ie: movement symbol.

Either way I'm with you. I'd say it's a Minute Man. Year to be confirmed by the movement date symbol.

'37 based on case #. If it weren't for the diamonds on the case I would recomend deleting if we can't reach the owner for more details.

Nice looking watch, the diamonds are an elegant touch. I've never seen anything like it, otherwise I'd be saying Minute Man also, but we need more info....

Hi Mark  We were looking for more pictures, if you have them, or any information stamped on the outside and/or inside case back.  Any info the mechanical movement has stamped on it, and those types of details.  Here's a link to a couple records showing the type of stuff we are looking for.  Thanks for getting back to us, and it's great you have your Dad's watch- a priceless family heirloom!
