1936 Bulova Beacon in pretty exceptional original condition came to me on the original band, which is sized so small I took it off and put it in reserve hoping to someday find another or a "donor" for links. Presented on a 1940's Speidel "Golden Knight". Keeping time within 15 seconds over 24 hrs.
Crystal appears original and slightly distorts the outer seconds track. Movement code and s/n match to 1936. A pretty unusual design for the 1930's. Referenced ad dates May 1938.
Take note the case back includes the American Standard shield, while interior mark is "Bulova Fifth Ave."
A point of interest is the S/N. Watch is numbered
6589493
The only other documented example of this watch in the Db (also 1936) is numbered
6589766
A difference of only 273 watches. What does this mean?, probably nothing besides coincidence.
I have seen one other example of this watch on the internet and it was also a 1936 numbered
6582792, a difference of 6,701
