Watch Description

So... This watch sort of a conundrum for me.  The movement seems to be 1934, the case seems to be 1931, and the inscription shows 1935.  Very interesting dial tracks matching the case.

Boy that sure looks a match Geoff.  Case says '31 but the movement is right in line with the 34/35 ad?

Legion looks to be a good match.  I am perplexed by the 1931 case date.   the design looks a little too early for this design case.

1934 also ties in nicely with the backcase engraving.

Jerin are you sure it starts with a '1'? I think I'm seeing a number before that, just not well defined. I think the number is meant to be 7 digits long.

It certainly looks to be a good match for a Bulova Legion.

Great looking watch and Legion seems like a good match.

I think I got it folks... Doing some really close ups.  Looks like they had a hell of a time stamping this one.  Steve doesn't look like they got a full serial in this one.  I think this was right about the time they were trying it on the outside for the first time.

But I see a "Square Shield" = 1931 right after a terribly stamped Bulova on the other side.

How this made it out of quality control is beyond me.  Hahaha...

Panel- I suggest we follow the movement even though generally we would follow the case s/n for dating in this era. I suggest it should be 1934

1934 Legion works for me. Movement date corresponds with period jeweler engraving on case back.

Agreed 100%.  1934 makes the most sense.  I wonder if this is your guy.  By any chance did the watch come from the Lancaster PA area.
