The ad I posted shows a true Miss Liberty.
The watch posted is a true Miss Liberty.
The subject watch has been named a Miss Liberty but is not.
I posted two seperate ads showing a watch looking like the subject called the Dolly Madison.
You post one showing a watch looking like the subject called the Dolly Madison.
What is the problem?
And why post another ad for the Miss Liberty when the subject does not look like one?

So focusing back on the subject watch

What we know for sure:

  • Its white gold
  • Its the engraved version
  • It has two diamonds
  • Its dated 1935
  • The diamond containers are eye shaped and not kite shaped as we see on the Miss Liberty.
  • Contradicting adverts  from different old jeler newpaper adverts between the Miss Liberty and the Dolly Madison.

I just noted that this advert may hold the answer...I said may.

Note it says Dolly Madison is the same case but with 15 Jewels. The Miss Liberty has only 7 jewels.

Here are the subject watch and a real Miss Liberty side by side.

now do you see the differences?

Ads for the dolly madison and miss liberty side by side.

that is more like it. : )

In my first post concerning the identity of the watch I mentioned the jewel count difference too.

Further to above. I'm inclined to say the following

  • 15 Jewelled eye shaped diamond set = Dolly Madison
  • 7 jewelled kite shaped diamond set = Miss Liberty

Puts the subject watch as a 1935 Dolly Madison.

BUT

Then we have a number of 1935 Dolly Madison adverts (including a geninue Bulova advert) showing a different watch.

1935 Bulova Doly Madison

1935 Bulova advert

Perhaps this is the cross over period.

I noticed that whilst looking at the ads, so at least this thrashing-out may clear up a few things concerning the cross over as well as the identity of the watch.

'UNKNOWN' in 1935.

....as would be many watches in their respective year, if we go down that road.

You were happy originally to give this 1935 watch a Miss Liberty name, even though the 1934 ad did not match either the watch or the date.
