Movement:  9A 17 jewel Unadjusted Bulova Watch Co. SWISS  (SN) 80966  Triangle date symbol 1926
Outside Case Back:  not marked
Inside Case Back:  Bulova Quality  Pat. Jan 11, 1927  2017410

Case measures 36.4mm x 24.4mm (not counting crown).
Kinda looks looks like one of those single hinged "flip backs" where you could put a photograph inside.  The gold content is not marked.  Case SN suggests 1932.  9A movement w/ 17 jewels in database as 1926, w/ a 15 jewel example in 1925.  The movement serial number can be read upside down as 99608, but I'm assuming it was stamped in same orientation as other lettering.

Yea your right on that.  I think I was looking at an older record w/ a blurrier ad, then posted the clearer ad w/o looking.  It's late at night :)

Also checked out this 1929/30 example here:http://www.mybulova.com/watches/1930-president-669  Check out the different position for the hinge pin on case back, but matching engraving pattern of subject watch.  Lots of variation in watch DB.

interesting.

Case dated 1930.

Hinge pin appears to be in the same position as the subject.

Yea Fifth is does in that example, but not the 1930 case I linked to a couple comments up. I may have distorted the photos during my pasting below. Compare to the last photo of subject case back to those three 1930 photos at very bottom.  Is it just the angle of the photo of case back, with the hinge side being "out of view" in 1930 example?  Pics of 1930 cases open seem to "hide" this possibility also.  I think they are different cases (or case backs)

Interesting Movt. Not the same as Wayne's in the db, but quite similar if you ignore the bridge layout. I know that sounds like it makes no sense. but the AS 340, FHF Robert,  and in this case, FHF 1146 are kinda all in the same family under the ETA umbrella and developed simultaneously. Not a lot of this particular one still around. I can't get Mark's 9A to load for some reason.

I'm leaning towards President at the moment, with some apparent mods.  It's a good idea to keep in mind that these old watches are far more likely to have had replacements and, often using what is at hand if it seems appropriate.
