I am trying to find out more about my Bulova the movement only says Bulova Watch Co. 10AN it has a triangle stamp on it USA 15 jewels unadjusted no serial number case says Bulova quality pat. Jan.11. 1027 # 1067951.the watch case looks like the bulova skyking 1931 model, I am not for sure but I don't think it has the right movement for the Sky King model. I really would appreciate it if someone could tell me more information about this watch. The Watch is excellent condition and runs real good. Thank You
That is a good looking watch, thanks for sharing! One of my favorite 1930's 2 tones. 10AN is the correct movement, however, the triangle date code on a 10AN indicates either 1926 or 1935. There are currently 3 Sky Kings dated 1931 in the database with a 15 instead of 17 jewel movement, so it's possible it was used that year.
That being said, the dial does not appear to be model correct. Sky King had the minutes track inside the numbers. My suspicion is that the movement and dial are a later replacement. No matter, it's a handsome watch, and nobody but us obsessive compulsives will see the difference

That's what got me to thinking about this watch the crown sticks out just a little bit to far plus the dial didn't look right it's a very nice-looking watch for the year it is it runs real good it don't keep the accurate time and needs to be set to run a little faster I am not a watch repair man and don't want to mess with it. I am going to sale it but I would like to know more about the watch. I seen a Sky King go for $439 and it didn't look as good as mine.
I don't think there's any question that your watch is a 1931 Bulova Sky King. While it's likely the dial and movement were added later we would assign this the Sky King designation noting the replacement. Sky King watches appear with and without 'hash marks' on the cases (THIS one has them) as well as a couple different dial styles. We decided quite awhile back not to argue the differences and assign them all The Sky King name. The original crown did fit a little closer to the case but the movement is not the reason, it's the crown.
Regarding value, we do not appraise watches as we not qualified, on-line auctions can be a way to determine value but remember, it's not all about the LISTING price, it's 100% about the SELLING price

I thought the case was a real 1931 Bulova Sky King model and this is why I put it on myBulova to find out more about the watch because of the dial having the minute track on the outside of the numbers and the movement having a symbol of a triangle. Is there anything more you could tell me about the dial and movement ? So what model do I call this watch ? I know it's going to hurt the value of this great looking Bulova watch.
It is a gorgeous watch. You will still call this a Sky King. It is still a beauty though, enjoy it.

Looking at the dial again, I'm now thinking it was a redial as the sub-dial isn't standard.
I've had a look through the tonneau case style models, but couldn't find any matches for this dial design between 1933 and 1935.
So a 1931 Bulova Sky King with a possible redial and later movement.
