Hi All, Hope everyone had a good holiday. Not sure what I have here, it most likely is a frankenbully. The dial very faintly says Bulova (almost like someone lightly scratched it off). The movement is a 10AN and is running really well and keeping good time. The top case is 10kt GF, and the back of the case is SS with no markings other than what is on the inside of the caseback. I went through the ads to see if anything on this case is actually Bulova but I haven't seen any matching yet. Would appreciate any help in finding out what this is. Thx
For sure a bully but I really like it! Very cool.
Hi Jay, Ya I wasn't really sure what it was when I first saw it because it was at an antique mall. I couldn't touch it unless I had the full intention of buying it. So I thought either way this is a great looking watch if it has a decent movement it it might be worth the investment. When I opened it up I was happy to see that it had a great runner like the 10AN in it. I was hoping that maybe the case top might be a Bulova top and that just the case back was an add. But that doesn't seem to be the case! I'll still wear it as a daily and add it to the collection.
So far all I'm seeing is a Bulova movement.
The case is certainly not period to the 20s or 30s (IMO) as I don't believe Bulova used stainless steel back cases, and even if they did it would be stamped Bulova. Thus if the case back is not Bulova chances are neither is the case front.
It's a great looking watch but at this stage I doubt its validity as a real Bulova.
