Hi NYCnat. WOW! That is a beauty. This one has been identified on here as the "Albert" model from this ad.

The ad isn't very clear and the dial minute tracks don't match perfectly. The ad is from 1930 and your watch is a 1929, so there could have been a slight dial change between the years. Unless a better ad surfaces "Albert" is the best ID for your watch currently in my opinion. It sure is a nice one.

I don't know.  That's a pretty grainy ad, and the subject dial is completly obscuring the 6 numeral, along with some other possible differences in both verticle and horizontal bezel engravings.
I gotta go check out other watch(es) ID'ed as such in the database (if we have any), and check for any other supporting ads.

I'm at two ticks tentative for the "other three Albert" in the watch database, and don't see any confirming second ad, so I'm good with tentative Albert for this watch too.

Agree with you 100% Mr. Smith, but there's two more on here just like the subject watch that are ID'd as the "Albert" using this ad.

Thats a good example of the " Albert" the dail on yours is in slightly better condition than mine. A good find. NYCnat

Here is a better res picture of the Albert.

I remembered Lisa found two seperate ads for the Albert and Franklin, one with names and the better res one with no names, but it's obvious they are the same and easier to ID.

Nice watch, bud.

Hi NYCnat, welcome back. It seems like it's been a while since you've brought a cool old Bulova to talk about. I agree with Bob, looks to me like this one is named Albert. Great looking piece, I like the watches from this era.

I'm good with Albert for this ID.
