Watch Description

This is what looks like a 1928 Conqueror.  It has a Bulova 10AN movement with a crescent moon date code.  The crown has been replaced and I am not sure if the hands are original as I believe they are supposed to be rounded cathedral hands.   The watch runs when laid upside down but stops when turned over.  Must have a bad upper balance jewel.

Very nice one Jim.  I like the hands even if they aren't original.

Probably a broken upper balance pivot.

1928 Conquerer.

Like an idoit I left this watch in my pocket after going downstairs to post this and forgot to take it out.  It went thru the washer and driver.  :(  Big bummer.  Lost most of the lume and second hand as wells a breaking the balance.  Suprisingly no rust.  I just hope the radium washed out in the drain.  Very stupid thing to do on a beautifully preserved watch.

Oh so sorry to hear that Jim, yes big bummer : (

I know nothing about how the radium works in this case but I would rewash the clothes if it were me at the very least.

Ouch!!

You shoudl still be able to recover if you can get your hands on a working 10AN movement and/or balance.

I agree with Kathy.....I'd probably rewash the clothes a few times :-)
