Something ever so slightly non-Bulova about the design on the bezel. The usual engraving is absent and the very fine 'beaded' lines are unusual.

I agree with Alex, we are looking at a Bulova movt and dial in a non-Bulova case. The reason it works is that the movt size and shape was common for the period. The 5AP is based on an Aurore-Villeret calibre 9.

A real looker, I like it alot. Unfortunately, it's either an unknown or perhaps non-conforming

It is a lovely watch. I am a bit more inclined to go with Unknown over Non-Conforming. I agree that it's a bit atypical design but I think it being solid gold does mitigate the differences.

I found and bought a watch exactly like this on the Bay yesterday. So there's two in my collection.

It is also 18K White Gold with two (2) Diamonds and four (4) Sapphires.

Incredible! Bulova unknown then. How far apart are the movement serial numbers?

Alex,

The  first one is: 30103 and the second one looks like:  45201.

Date Codes: first one is Triangle (1926),  the second one looks like an Arrow (1937?).WEIRD

I am going by the photos because I have not received the second watch yet.

Alex, I have a question for you:  When Bulova had the "trade in your old watch" promotions, did the company refurbish the watches?

They are really beautiful watches and how wonderful for you to find another one.  I would go with Unknown over non-comforming since there are two of the same watch.
