Watch Description

Another early ladies watch for the database.  I've tentatively put it down as 1921, but after looking at the ads I can't figure out the model.  I assume its from 1921-23 based on the AAI movement.  It has a nice 18k gold case (and I paid less then the value of the gold content for the watch!).   Also, I haven't seen an 18k gold case in the ads for similar watches either.   Anyway, it keeps good time and my wife likes it and has added it to her growing collection...

Been a busy couple of weeks. I also added a 1929 Norman, a 1938 Rite Angle, and a 1926 Trojan to my collection!

The 1922 Bulova 976 looks the closest, but the case engraving and shape looks to differ slightly.

Yes, it does look close.  And it does have an 18k case...  I think I missed it when I looked before...

All I can say at this point, my wife does the same especially when it comes to gold and diamonds

Nice ole Bulova gal you have!!  Solid gold Am Std case w/ the globe symbol.  Bulova W. Co signature on mvnt on the AAI mvnt does suggest pre 1923.  Am I seeing another leading digit on the mvnt serial number?  Looks like there's a 1 near the edge of the bridge.  16381??

Good eye.  In examining it closely, it certainly looks like a 1 and the spacing is also the same as the other 1, so yes, 16381 seems correct.

Sorry David, I missed this one all week. This is nice little ladies model, I see why your wife snagged it. I agree with admin that it's not quite a 976. I think I'm at Unknown right now.

I'm at unknown, but it is close to the ad for 976-S
