Bulova Watch Cases

Submitted by PastyDuchy on July 10, 2021 - 9:21am

I uploaded a NOS case for a 1928 Dictator to the watch ID and it's been either deleted or moved. While I realise it wasn't a complete watch it had merit for reference use as it was enamelled. Fully understand it might not have been added to the right place but is there actually anywhere we should be uploading cases? these forums don't seem to be searchable but there doesn't seem to be anywhere similar to the movement reference section.

Also might it be possible to notify people if their posts are moved or deleted? Apologies if this sounds like a moan, I love this site and would love to contribute more but it's frustrating enough uploading images without the added indignity of having them subsequently removed without explanation, some guidance on where I could/should have uploaded it would have been helpful.

cheers

Pasty, that was my decision to remove your post.

As per the sites instructions when adding a watch, which states: Complete watches only that date prior to 1980.

I gave notice on the post that the entry woud be removed. The post was left up for over 24 hours after my comment before I removed it. I typically contact the member to advise if this happens. Apologies if I neglected to do that in this instance.

The information you posted is certainly useful, and as per my comment against the post, I recommended you create a new forum topic under 'Research Forum'

I'll look create a new one now, as I agree that a 'case' section might also be of use. However I'd like to try and limit posts to cases only, otherwise we will end up with members trying to ID a watch, which will not be the intent.

I thought there might be, thanks for the link but just suggesting that having something similar to the searchable model and movement databases might be useful, the forums aren't searchable, it's hard enough to find something you know is there, but when you're looking for something that may or may not exist, it's a nightmare.

Sorry for being grumpy

I suspect you're a wee bit grumpier now after that futbal match? I was sorely disappointed
