Would a hair spring cause a watch to run super fast?

would you know if a hairspring would cause a watch to run super fast like 45 min fast? Had a guy look at this and told me it was a bad hairspring then said 100 bucks to fix it. Needless to say i still need this advance in time fixed. was the price fair or was he looking for fast money

Yes,

Bent coils, sticky coils or magnetized.

The $100 fee would depend on the repair rendered....

This was to install a new hair spring only.

Well i have a guy now that is awesome and comes very highly recomended and i will be sending him this watch as soon as i get the 34 president back he is working on. Thanks fifth for the input.
