Accutron 218-0 Movement with 1.35 v Accucell Battery InstalledThe original Accutron Batteries were Mercury and made by Eveready and Banned in the USA by the EPA. The original voltage of the Batteries for 214 and 218 Movements were 1.35. Bulova OKed the use of Silver Oxcide cells up to 1.5 volts and specs say the coils can take up to 2.0 volts. Now, today a Company called "Accucell" has developed a Modified 395 Battery ringed by a Volt Controller to 1.35 volts in which Bulova originally called for. I'm being told to stay away from any Aftermarket battery. I bought the Accucell anyway and it works perfect. And the 344 1.5 volt works perfect as well. So I need to know what Batteries today are being used on these 214 or 218 Bulova Accutron Movements and is the "Accucell" modified Battery OK to use? See pic of Accucell installed.

I haven't heard of any issues with the Accucell, and we use these also.
