Source for Cathedral Hands?

Submitted by tshanno on December 8, 2019 - 11:35am

Hi, guys.

I don't have a big problem with collecting less than perfect watches but I do seem to be accumulating more than a few where the only big issue is the poor quality cathedral hands.  Many of them have hands like this where the color is missing like this:

Does anyone have a good source for replacements for these?

Thanks,

Tom S.

I don't know of any source for new cathedral hands so taught myself how to do a fair job of reluming myself.  Don't know yet how long it will last but 3+ years and counting.

I look for lots of the vintage luminescent hands on e-bay and will get a batch then sort through by hour and minute hands then sesarch through that when I need one.

Yes, thanks.  Perhaps reluming is the answer.  I bought a kit from Esslinger.  We'll see how it goes.

Just a caution in case you haven't read this.  Be very careful handling the old lume.  It is still radioactive.  You can search the topic in the forum to read more on the subject.
