Hello ! New to the forum!! Just acquired an Excellency "DD" without it's original box and wondered if anyone knows the correct presentation box it would have come in. Would like to start looking for one. Have seen some marked "Excellency" but are not sure if they are ladies only boxes or if they came as a unisex model - or- if the men's even had a specific one or if they came in the general "Bulova Fifth Avenue New York" that is common. By the way - love the website and thank all of you in advance for any information!!
Hello and welcome to the mybulova site! Do you know what year your watch is? I was just looking at watch boxes on ebay and saw two Excellency boxes that looked like a late 40s early 1950s. I just looked at them again and the one I thought was a mens says ladies. The other one looks like a ladies also. I bet you could put a mens in the square one. Looks like a early 1950s box.
Mine appears to be a 1948. My main confusion is if the Excellency Mens were always in a box marked Excellency or could they also have been packed in a regular Bulova box. As you say some are identified as Ladies watch boxes. I have seen the more square shaped boxes identified as Ladies but wondered if at times Bulova used the more square, flat boxes for men's too. I am sure Geoff's rectangular box is absolutely correct but never seem to see one of these for sale. If there is a "Hard and fast rule" I want to make sure I get it right before investing in one!! Appreciate the help!!
