Bulova accutron pocket watch

Submitted by okashii1 on October 2, 2010 - 3:26pm

I am trying to find information about my Bulova Accutron pocket watch. I took it to a local jeweler and had the battery replaced, but he wasn't familiar with this watch, so he really couldn't tell me much about it other than that he thinks it was made in the 1960's. I will post a picture, but I am afraid to open the back cover because I don't want to damage it, and there are already tool marks where someone tried. It makes a humming noise, and it intensifies when you place it on a hollow object, resonance from the tuning fork inside I guess. The second hand doesn't tick in increments, it sweeps around the dial.

Look at the pic and let me know what you think.

This is the first Accutron Pocket Watch I have seen. Click on Watch Links above and select  The Accutron Watch Page  That should get you started. Lots of info on the web about Accutrons.

Here are three really interesting web-sites you're sure to enjoy...

Looks identical to the one I recently bought.

Here are pictures of it.

Inside is an Accutron 219 (to be precise: 2193.10)
